Bright Vision for Americans with Indian Origins
In a unipolar world, developing closer ties is crucial for trade & growth between two nations. The trade relations between the US and India over the last decade has resulted in growth in many economic sectors besides IT. Today, India and the US stand at an important junction that reflects stronger cultural, political, and economic ties.
Sanjay Puri believes in driving this relationship further via trade initiatives & US-India Policies which are aimed at opening a window of ideas and opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators from both the countries. He regularly leads trade delegations to bring together mid and small innovators from both countries in a win-win relationship. These delegations comprise of a vast array of Policy leaders like Governors, Members of Congress, entrepreneurs, educationists, students, researchers and others from both the countries to brain-storm ideas and opportunities in different industries via one-to-one interaction with industry know-hows coupled with well-planned local visits in the host country. It is an important trade activity which opens timely economic opportunities in the US and India.
Working with the Indian American community for many years, Sanjay Puri came to believe in the immense potential of the U.S.-India economic relationship. The two countries have a mutually complimentary paradigm, the US has natural resources, innovation and ideas while India has skilled labor and demographics. Sanjay believes that Indian Americans play an important role in the US economic, political and social spheres and that with the dawn of 21st century, India with its billion-plus citizens can have strategic importance to the US and vice versa.
The bilateral trade between the countries has increased tremendously, almost tripling from 2004-2008 and it continues to grow into 2013 with two-way investments. This a point where US-India policies become vital for building a momentum for growth especially during changing and challenging economic times. The need for change is crucial to keep the ball rolling both ways.
The Indian American community is a bridge between the two countries not just for growth in the relationship but to also iron out hiccups that will come along the way. Sanjay likes to pen on topics that matter to him and the Indian diaspora at large. It keeps him connected to both the countries.
